This postcard mailer is created for a TED talk based on Fiorenzo Omenetto’s discussion on ‘Silk, the ancient material of the future’. He shares 20+ astonishing new uses for silk-in transmitting light, improving sustainability, adding strength and making medical leaps and bounds. In creating collateral for this intriguing Ted talk, I went with the concept of using innovative ways to present his research. Postcards are normally 2-sided, but instead I presented information by making the postcard 4-sided. I went with this form because it allows more information to be shown and pushes the audience to rethink the way we use and interact with known materials.
